SaDee and Nick Haveman have a beautiful love story! They met while waiting tables during their summer job at the Pink Pony and worked together for four years on Mackinac Island. Having written their Love Story on Mackinac, they then came back to the Island for their dream wedding at Grand Hotel. Being busy with their lives in the Grand Rapids area, they relied on wedding coordinator Jazell Raycraft of For the Love of Mackinac! to help put everything together.

SaDee’s Renee Austin bridal gown gave her a touch of classic elegance, and getting ready in the Esther Williams Suite was a special time for SaDee with her bridesmaids. Nick and his groomsmen were dressed in formal black and white, and took advantage of the Grand Hotel parlor and porch for photos with photographer Sara Macy of It’s Wonderful Photography.

The ceremony at the Grand Hotel Tea Garden on a beautiful October afternoon was nothing short of magical. Florals from St Ignace in Bloom provided the lovely accent to the color change, and were made up of many colors and variteties of SaDee’s favorites. Lots of friends from their days at the Pink Pony joined them to celebrate making it a reunion of sorts of so many friends and family. Officiant Marie Hulett performed the ceremony. Everything went beautifully and the happy couple was joined for photos immediately after the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds headed out for their romantic carriage ride provided by Gough Carriage Livery with It’s Wonderful Photography, capturing special moments along the way, stopping on Main Street, the Iroquois Hotel and the West Bluff for photos.

An evening reception was held in the Grand Hotel’s Theatre, with beautiful centerpieces by St. Ignace in Bloom adding a gorgeous touch. After their dinner, SaDee, Nick, and their loved ones danced the night away to a live band. Then later that night, a few more drinks and libations with friends at the Pink Pony Bar capped off the perfect day.
