“When did you and Levi begin to plan your wedding on Mackinac Island?”
Abby: “Levi and I began planning our wedding in November of 2024, right after he proposed. We chose Mackinac Island because both of our families are from Michigan, and we wanted to celebrate in the beautiful state where we grew up.”
“Why did you chose to come from Georgia to be married on Mackinac?”
Abby: “Mackinac has always felt like something out of a dream—it’s the kind of place a little girl imagines getting married on, with its timeless charm, horse-drawn carriages, and breathtaking views. It truly felt like the perfect fairy-tale setting for us to begin our forever.”
What was one of your big moments that you will always remember?
Abby: “One of my biggest moments was walking down the aisle, seeing my husband waiting for me, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Mackinac Island.”
What would be your best tips for a couple planning a Mackinac Island Wedding?
Abby:
- Book your vendors and accommodations early, since the island gets very busy during wedding season.
- Plan ahead for transportation logistics—ferries, horse-drawn carriages, and bicycles make the day magical, but timing is important.
- Embrace the natural beauty of the island—it makes for incredible photos and unforgettable memories.
- Finally, don’t stress the little details. The charm of Mackinac Island is that it feels timeless, and your guests will love the unique experience no matter what.
