Mackinac Island in the peak of summer…ah ❤️ Sometimes during a cool Spring or long winter, you may wonder if summer is ever coming…and you need a blast of color. Here is one of those sweet summertime weddings we dream about!
Emily and Zachary chose to gather 30 of their closest friends and their family for an intimate wedding on the Hotel’s front porch facing the Mackinac Bridge. Both loved of them loved everything about Grand Hotel, so the wedding day included photographs taken by Sara Wright of It’s Wonderful Photography and included many of the unique settings available right at the hotel.
Flowers from Margaret’s Garden, wedding inviations and maps from Kate Dupre of Watercolor Mackinac, hair styling by Aster’s Salon. Everything was so perfect for these two as their smiles reflect the joy of the day.
Family photos were taken at the Grand Hotel’s Secret Garden. The colorful blooms in the magical garden change as the season progresses beginning with Spring flowers and moving then into the summer annuals. The garden is lush and beautiful in late July for Emily and Zach.
After the wedding, the whoe family enjoyed a horse drawn carriage ride, from Mackinac Island Carriage Tours, through the Island together. This romantic time incorporated so many beautiful photos and vistas of Mackinac, beginning with the West Bluff and continuing downtown.
The beautiful Pontiac Room at Grand Hotel was the setting for the dinner reception. The outdoor patio allowed guests to mingle and take in the beautiful views from the East end of the famous Grand Hotel porch.
Dinner, toasts and cake cutting took place until the sun began to set, then the guests move into the Terrace Room for dancing to the Grand Hotel orchestra.
